The Global Issues Network was established to give students the opportunity to explore potential solutions to problems that are prevalent all over the world - ranging from hunger to education and from deforestation to renewable energy. Students construct sustainable projects that they hope to become a part of the school and present them after different conferences to help spread their ideas and start similar projects in other parts of the world.
Over the years, the Global Issues Network (GIN) has focused on creating sustainable student led projects that challenge the issues presented globally and locally and offer solutions through service. The students of GIN present their projects at conferences globally to encourage other students with similar passions to try to engage their community with a project similar to the one created at Lincoln. The major issues Lincoln students have tried to tackle revolve around education, hunger in the community, environmental awareness, poverty, suicide awareness among teens, awareness of our carbon footprint, shelters for elderly, battered women, or children, and more. Each year students bring their own passions to GIN and their ideas and passions are cultivated and reaffirmed by like-minded individuals as well as the knowledge that they can and will make a difference.
This year a few of the projects are:
Beach Clean-up
Goal - to raise awareness of pollution along the shores of El Rio Plata and to create a weekly program of volunteers from Lincoln and the surrounding community dedicated to clearing debris and trash from along the river.
Education for All
Goal - teaching English, Math and Science skills through games and activities to elementary students at La Escuela Guadelupe.

Street Store
The idea of the street store is different from a garage sale in that everything is free. All clothing and shoes are distributed like you would see in a clothing store but on cardboard hangers and folks in the neighborhood can peruse at their convenience to collect 3 - 5 items of each member of their family.
